Final General Assembly Meeting on Confirmation of the Municipal Chief Executive Nominee Held.
His Excellency the President, in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended, and Order 15(6) of the Model Standing Orders, re-nominated Madam Sarah Amoakoa to the office of Municipal Chief Executive on 28th May 2025, subject to approval by the Asante Akim North Municipal Assembly.
In pursuance of Order 3(7)(c) and Order 14(1) of the Model Standing Orders for District, Municipal, and Metropolitan Assemblies, a Special General Assembly Meeting was convened on Monday, 16th June 2025, at the Municipal Assembly Hall to consider and approve the President’s nominee.
DECLARATION OF RESULTS
The election results were declared by the Municipal Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Francis Ohene Komfa. The results were as follows:

The Electoral Officer informed Members that the Nominee of the President, Mad. Sarah Amoakoaa, has secured more than two-thirds majority of the votes of the Members present and voting, therefore, Members of the Assembly have been duly approve the Nominee, pursuance with Section 20(1) of Act 936 and Order 14(1) of the Standing Orders.
