SENSITIZATION ON MSME CLASSIFICATION.

The sensitization workshop took the form of presentation session, and an interactive session afterwards. The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Asamoah Damoah opened the session, with support from his Assistant Director 1, Mr. Gideon Buabin. The MCD urged all stakeholders to take advantage of the BAC’s presence to acquire tools to help improve their businesses and support in boosting Local Economic Development as a whole. The BAC Head took participants through the main content of the day, which included introduction and further clarification on new regulations regarding MSME Classification, Criteria, and implications for MSMEs. The interactive session involved a Questions and Answer time, Recommendations, and Peer information sharing. Among Stakeholders present were DEPARTMENT HEADS, PWDs ASSOCIATION, NAHAG, MEDIA PERSONS (SALT FM, ASEMPA MEDIA), MUNICIPAL AGRIC EXTENSION OFFICER, MUNICIPAL STATISTICS OFFICER, MUNICIPAL SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICER, GNTDA, GEA Clients AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS. The session ended with participants extending gratitude for the information sharing opportunity.

 

Participants were encouraged to share the information with others and were also advised to maintain proper business documentation/records to support the classification activities. The BAC was praised for facilitating the information seminar and a participant recommended that we begin business-to-business sensitization activities especially for businesses in rural areas. The media also recommended a talk to show session to reach a larger audience.
