His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama has declared July 1, of every year as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving. In accordance with the President’s directive, the Asante Akim North Municipal Assembly observed the maiden event on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The Assembly held two prayer sessions with the Christian and Muslim communities. This initiative aims to promote a culture of gratitude and unity while acknowledging God’s intervention in the country’s affairs.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Sarah Amoakoaa, along with Traditional Leaders, Heads of Departments/institutions, the Clergy, Students, and other distinguished guests graced the occasion.
The first session of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving was observed with a solemn interdenominational Service at the Apostolic Church, Agogo Central.
An afternoon session was subsequently held at the Agogo Central Mosque hosting the Chief Imam, Zongo Chief, Opinion leaders, and the general Muslim Community of Asante Akim Agogo.
The theme for the maiden event was dubbed “Reset, Reflect and Renew for National Prosperity. This initiative is aimed to express gratitude, strengthen our community, and renew our faith in our Maker.


The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Sarah Amoakoaa, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order in the Municipality during her remarks. She urged Ghanaians to support the government’s Resetting Agenda to fully realize the development we all desire. The atmosphere was both solemn and hopeful, as residents committed themselves to national growth through prayer and thanksgiving.
