Today, the Asante Akim North Municipal Assembly held a two-session sod-cutting ceremony at Afrisre and Nsonyameye, both suburbs within the Municipality. The events were attended by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Deputy Administrative Officer, Chief Engineers, contractors, key Assembly staff, government appointees, and the media.

The team first visited Afrisre, where the Assembly, through government support, has commenced the construction of a CHPS Compound to improve access to healthcare services for residents. Afrisre serves as a central point for surrounding communities, and the facility will significantly reduce the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances to access medical care. The Chief and people of Afrisre expressed their appreciation and pledged their full support to ensure the successful completion of the project. The project, being executed by NSL Company, includes a CHPS Compound and a staff bungalow and is expected to be completed within six months.

The second sod-cutting ceremony took place at Nsonyameye, where the Assembly is constructing a three-unit classroom block with a teachers’ staff common room and a toilet facility. The traditional authorities and the entire community expressed great joy over the project, which is expected to enhance teaching and learning in the area. The project, being undertaken by Inner City Company, also has a six-month completion period.
