On 15th April, engineers from the Urban Roads Department visited Agogo in the Asante Akim North Municipality to undertake a comprehensive road inventory exercise. The team conducted detailed measurements, technical assessments, and data collection on the existing road network. This forms a critical baseline for the planned upgrade of the stretch from Hwidiem to Agogo into a standard asphalt road, which is expected to significantly improve durability, safety, and travel efficiency along the route.
As part of the exercise, the engineers also inspected selected inner roads within the municipality to evaluate their current condition and determine their suitability for future construction and rehabilitation works. These assessments are essential in prioritizing road projects and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to areas of greatest need.
The initiative, facilitated through the efforts of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), reflects the Assembly’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents. Upon completion, the project is anticipated to ease transportation challenges, boost local economic activities, improve access to markets, schools, and health facilities, and strengthen connectivity between communities within the municipality and beyond.
