On 6th March 2026, Asante Akim North Municipal marked Ghana’s Independence Day with a colourful and well-organized celebration under the theme *“Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.** The event brought together key stakeholders and members of the community, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), the Municipal Education Director, representatives from the security services, Nananom, heads of institutions, staff, cadet corps, students, and the general public.
The programme was characterized by impressive displays of discipline, patriotism, and cultural pride by participating schools and cadet groups. Activities included a ceremonial parade, marching competitions, and inspection of contingents by the dignitaries. The MCE, in his keynote address, emphasized the need for unity, hard work, and collective responsibility in building a prosperous municipality and restoring hope among citizens, particularly the youth.
The competitive segment of the celebration showcased the commitment and preparedness of the schools. In the Basic School category, Savior Basic School distinguished itself with an outstanding performance to secure first place. Hwidiem D/A Basic School followed with a strong showing to take second place, while Presby Basic School earned third place for their commendable effort.
In the Senior High School category, State Senior High School demonstrated exceptional coordination and discipline to emerge as the overall winner. Oweeriman Senior High School secured second place with an impressive performance, while Collins Senior High School placed third.
Overall, the celebration was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity, patriotism, and renewed commitment among all participants toward the development of Asante Akim North and Ghana as a whol
