SOD-CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 3-UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK AT ADINKRAKROM

As part of efforts by the Government of Ghana, through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), to ensure that development is evenly distributed across communities, a sod-cutting ceremony was held at Adinkrakrom, a suburb of the Asante Akim North Municipality, for the construction of a new three-unit classroom block.

The initiative forms part of the Government’s commitment to using the Common Fund to address critical development needs at the local level, particularly in the education sector. A significant portion of the Fund is allocated to support educational infrastructure, recognizing that access to safe, adequate and conducive learning environments is essential to improving the quality of education and the future prospects of children.

The project comprises a 3-unit classroom block, an office, store, staff common room, and a 4-seater KVIP/WC facility. The facility is expected to provide a more suitable learning environment for pupils and improve the working conditions of teachers within the community.

The ceremony was attended by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Sarah Amoakoaa, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), representatives from the Assembly’s Works and Engineering, Physical Planning and Procurement Units, the contractor, Kwanaasi Ltd, the Hon. Assembly Member, Nananom, and the general populace of Adinkrakrom.

Speaking at the ceremony, the MCE emphasized the importance of investing in educational infrastructure as a key component of community development. She noted that the provision of modern and adequate classroom facilities demonstrates the Government and the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that children in communities such as Adinkrakrom have access to a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The MCE further assured the people of Adinkrakrom of the Assembly’s commitment to monitoring the project to ensure that it is executed according to the required standards and within the agreed timeframe.

The contractor, Kwanaasi Ltd, also assured the community that work would be carried out diligently and that the project would be completed within the stipulated five-month period.

The project is expected to contribute significantly to improving educational infrastructure in Adinkrakrom and reflects the broader objective of using the District Assemblies Common Fund to bring development directly to communities and ensure that no community is left behind.

The Assembly looks forward to the successful completion of the project and its subsequent use to provide a safe, conducive and improved learning environment for the children of Adinkrakrom.
