On Thursday, 6th November 2025, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Sarah Amoakoa, led a delegation from the Asante Akim North Municipal Assembly to the community of Wioso as part of a series of monitoring and engagement activities under the Legacy Project.

The team comprised representatives from Super Markus Enterprise (the project contractor), the Engineering Department, the Town Planning Unit, the Procurement Unit, and members of the media, who were all present to assess progress and gather feedback from the local stakeholders.

During the visit, the delegation held an interactive meeting with Nananom, the Assembly Member, a teacher, and several other prominent residents of Wioso. Discussions centered on the progress of the ongoing two-classroom block project, which is expected to significantly improve teaching and learning conditions within the community upon completion.

The Legacy Project forms a crucial part of the government’s renewed commitment to complete abandoned development projects across the nation — an agenda passionately driven by the President of the Republic of Ghana to ensure that public resources are utilized efficiently and communities benefit fully from earlier investments.

Hon. Amoakoa commended the contractor and the local leadership for their cooperation and encouraged the community to continue supporting the initiative. She emphasized that education remains a top priority for the Assembly, and projects such as the two-classroom block at Wioso demonstrate the government’s dedication to providing quality educational infrastructure, especially in rural and underserved communities.

The visit concluded with a site inspection, where the team assessed the level of work done and discussed measures to ensure timely completion. The interaction left community members hopeful that, once completed, the facility would not only address classroom shortages but also motivate both teachers and pupils to achieve higher academic standards.
